Storybook Illustrator, Volunteer Position.

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the well-being of children and individuals in our community? We are a not-for-profit organization that exists to promote healing by journeying with those suffering loss due to Death or Divorce. Upon surveying the marketplace we were unable to find a curriculum to meet our current needs and have embarked on the process of writing our own. A need currently exists in our 10-12 year old age group to develop resources to enhance the new curriculum.

Duties and Responsibilities Work with a team using existing models to illustrate our new storybook for the 10-12 year old age group. Attend bi-monthly team meetings and work independently to accomplish team objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements
Passionate about improving the well-being of children.
Functions well collaborating with a team as well as working independently.
Previous experience with Cornerstone of Hope or similar charitable organization an asset but not required.

Orientation and Training All orientation, training and support will be provided within our organization. We have existing curriculum models in place.

Lines of Communication Will report directly to Team Leader, Curriculum Development.

Times Needed and Place of Work Bi-monthly meetings can be facilitated at First Assembly Church or at a mutually chosen location. Remainder of time will be of independent nature.

Commitment Required We would like to accommodate your schedule and work within the level of involvement you desire. Since this is a Project-Based position, a suggested commitment of 3- 6 months and a weekly commitment of approximately 5-10 hours is recommended but can be negotiated prior to start. A good portion of this time is independent in nature and not restricted to normal business hours. Ongoing collaboration will be required at team meetings.

Remuneration This is an unpaid, volunteer position. We would be pleased to provide the successful candidate practical experiences, great references, and written recommendations.
